Djokovic started playing tennis at an early age of four. He climbed rapidly at the junior circuit. He faced a lot of hardships in his early days; he grew up in Serbia of the 1990s which was racked by war. He though never lost his focus and became top-ranked Europe’s Under-14 and subsequently Under-16. He soon turned pro in 2003.
 
By the time he turned 18, he already was among the top 100 ATP players. At 19, in the year 2006, he lifted his maiden ATP event trophy. The following year, he reached the semis at the 2nd and 3rd grand slam of the year. He bettered that with reaching the finals of the last grand slam of the year but eventually lost it to favourite Federer. Djokovic though came back strong in the next season and created history by becoming the first Men tennis player from Serbia to win a grand slam after he won the Australian Open 2008.
 
In 2010, he again created history by handing them their first ever Davis Cup title. After finally winning the most coveted slam The Wimbledon in 2011, he became the number one ranked player. The year 2011 was arguably the best years of his glorious career so far. He won as many as three grand slams in that year.
 
In 2016, he won his first ever French Open title and completed his career slam by beating the fighter, Andy Murray. After which though, he has struggled with form and injuries. His fallout with his coach Borris Becker. Recently just before the French Open 2017, he has hired the services of legendary Andre Agassi as his coach. With 12 Grand Slams already to his name and also an Olympic bronze medal which he won at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he is already a legend of the sport.
 
Off-court though, Djokovic is well-known for his humour and imitating the other players such as Federer and Maria Sharapova. He is also seen in various high-end brand commercials such as Seiko and Peugeot. He has also published his autobiography titled “Serve to Win”.
