P. Unnikrishnan Complete Bio & Career

P. Unnikrishnan, a well renowned Carnatic vocalist and he hails from Palakkad, Kerala and is a national award-winning playback singer. He did his graduation from Madras University and have a degree in General Law and Post Graduation Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations.

 
He had a keen interest in Carnatic music since childhood and started learning the same when he was just 12 years old from trainer Sri V.L. Seshadri. Before choosing music as a full-time option, he used to work with Parrys Confectionery Ltd as an executive and was used to be a very passionate cricketer.
 
He was awarded many times for his excellence, few of them are like in the year 1994, he was awarded the National Award for the Best Male Playback Singer. He is also the recipient of “Isai Peroli” title from Karthik Fine Arts, “Yuva Kala Bharathi” from Bharath Kalachar, “Nada Bhushanam” title from Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and “Kalaimamani” title from the government of Tamil Nadu.
 
He has recorded almost 600 film songs so far for language films like Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. He is called as the “A” grade artist who has given concerts all over the World.

He is the son of Shri K. Radhakrishnan, who is the Director of Kesari Kuteeram Pvt. Ltd. And Dr Harini Radhakrishnan, who is an Ayurvedic Physician. He is married to Priya, who is a famous Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam dancer and together they have a child named Vasudev Krishna.
