Peter Handscomb Complete Bio & Career

Peter Handscomb is among various wicket-keeper batsmen who came into side post Gilchrist-Haddin era. He grew up in Melbourne city of Australia. He started off his career by representing Victoria under-17 level and was soon offered a berth in Victoria’s under-19. He then forced his way into the Australian under-19 side in the year 2009.
 
He made his first-class debut in the year 2011 by representing his stateside Victoria. After some impressive performance, he bagged a contract at the Australian domestic T20 league famously known as the Big Bash league in 2013. He also played for English county side Gloucestershire in the year 2015. He made his Test debut against South Africa in 2016. After some impressive performance, he became a regular at Australia’s test squad. He, however, failed to impress at the shorter formats and thus has always been in and out of the side since last 3 years. 
 
He is a floater who can be used as an opener, a middle opener batsmen and sometimes as a finisher as well. His wicket-keeping skills though sometimes has been criticized but is more than a handy batsman. He was included in Australia’s squad that toured India just before the 2019 World Cup. An impressive performance will earn him a berth in the team which will be picked for the 2019 World Cup.
