Pooja Hegde family mainly belongs to "Udupi"(Karnataka). She does not speak only Hindi language but, Puja is also proficient and even speaks very well other languages like (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and English). Pooja inclination towards modelling and fashion was since her childhood and thus she was intended to make her career as a model and actress. She started to pursue her dreams to take part in modelling assignments when she was studying. She got distressed by reaching at the final stage of the "Miss Femina India " contest in 2009, and eventually she got out from the competetion and she did not go in finals of that competition.
Despite she did not give up and again she participated in the 2010 "Miss Universe India" contest in which she became the "seccond runner-up". After this, she extended her career towards films. She approached many south film producers to get the break in films, and "Mughmodo" was her first ever film of her career. She got her another film name "Oka Laila Kosam".After that many offers came across her way and she acted in many south Indian movies. She made her debut in Bollywood by the Ashutosh Govarikar directed movie"Mohanjo Dara" released in 2016 in this film she worked opposite "Hrithik Roshan". The movie boomed at the box-office and she again turned towards south. Post her Bollywood release, she had few Telugu film releases such as Saakshyam, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, and Maharshi among others. All her films did well agt the box-office and she will be next seen in Bollywood film Housefull 4.
