Prahlad Kakkar Complete Bio & Career

Prahlad Kakkar did his school level education from St Joseph School in Dehradun and Sainik School in Kunjpura. He completed his graduation from the prestigious Fergusson College, Pune. After graduation, he started his professional career in the advertising field. He was employed at ASP (Delhi) as an account specialist. For a short period, he has worked as an assistant director to noted director Shyam Benegal. He established his own advertising production house called Genesis Film Productions in 1977. Today, it was one of the most sought-after production houses in the country. Besides advertisements, his production house has also made some acclaimed short films as well. 
 
Kakar along with some of his friends co-founded ReefWatch Marine Conservation. He also owns a restaurant in Mumbai, which he started along with Jennifer Kendal at Prithvi Theatre. He also runs a coffee shop as well as a wine bar in Mumbai. His other ventures include a scuba diving school named ‘Lucadives’. He has directed some of the most famous commercial of Indian Television like Pepsi and Kamasutra and has worked with icons like Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan. He has made a brief appearance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Corporate. 
 
For his contribution to the field of advertisement, he has been conferred with several awards and recognition.
