Preeja Sreedharan is a fantastic long distance runner who was born on March 13, 1982, Idukki, in the state of Kerala, India. 

Preeja Sreedharan Complete Bio & Career

Preeja has earned the gold medal as well as a silver medal in the 10,000m and 5000m events respectively which were conducted at Guangzhou Asian Games. Most prominently, she maintains the Indian national record regarding 10,000m and 5000m. During the times of Asian Games of the year 2006, she was able to finish the race in the fifth place in both the 10,000 and 5000 meters. Later, in the year 2007, she was able to earn the silver medal in the Asian Championships which was located in Amman in 10,000 meters. Most significantly, she worked hard in order to get selected to the Beijing Olympics in the year June 2008. However, she was able to receive B qualifying mark for the Games. As a whole, she achieved to be in the 25th position in the game- Olympics 10,000 meters. 
 
As a matter of fact, she completed her race in just 31: 50: 28 minutes. This tends to be her best time achieved during Guangzhou Asian Games. Currently, this tends to be the highest Indian National record. Consequently, in the year 2010, she was chosen to be the Manorama Newsmaker. She was selected by the public voting which was done through online SMS. However, Arundhati Roy was the co-finalist member along with Preeja. Subsequently, she took part in the Delhi Half Marathon and was one of the winners among the women athletes from India.
