Rachana Maurya Complete Bio & Career

Rachana Maurya was born and raised in Mumbai and started her career at the young age of 16. She catapulted to the limelight after featuring in the item number Deedar De from the Hindi film Dus in 2005. After which, she appeared in the remix song of Aashiq Banaya Aapne alongside Himesh Reshamiya. She became one of the most sought after actress to do item numbers after appearing in the video song of Desi Soda Whisky of Rishi Singh.
 
Subsequently, she moved to the south and did item numbers in all south Indian language films. Her item numbers for the Malayalam songs like Pokkiri Raja and Chotta Mumbai became very famous. To date, she has done over 50 item numbers including Hindi and south Indian language films.
 
Besides films, she has also appeared in the music videos like Maya the Illusion by Rahul Sharma, Tere Naal Nachna by Sukhbir, Main Hogaya Sharabi by Panjabi MC and Nishani by Jassi Sohal among others.
 
She has mostly appeared in item numbers but hates being called an item girl. She says she does it because she is paid heavily for donning skimpy costumes. Her promo song of O Sexy Mamma with Madhavan needs a special mention.
