Rajeev Ravi Complete Bio & Career

After graduating from FTII, (Film and Television Institute of India)Pune in 1997, he began his professional career as an assistant director to Malayalam film director  Santosh Thundiyil. He made his debut as an independent cinematographer with Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Chandini Bar in 2001. His collaboration with noted Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is well-known. They together have given several critically acclaimed and commercially successful films like No Smoking, Dev.D, Gulaal, and Bombay Talkies amongst others. He won National award for the best cinematographer in Geetu Mohandas’s film Liar's Dice. After establishing himself as a sought-after cinematographer, he stepped into direction.
 
He made his directorial debut with Malayalam film Annayum Rasoolum in 2013. The film was declared a hit at the box-office. In this love story, he portrayed his hometown Kochi in a very beautiful way. This film garnered maximum limelight because this film has 5 noted Malayalam directors, P. Balachandra, M.G.Sasi, Ranjith, Aashiqu Abu and Joy Matthew in character roles. After this film, he directed few more films like Njan Steve Lopez and Kammatti Paadam.
