Rathi Arumugam, 35 years old, is a South Indian actress who has done critically acclaimed roles in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Kannada films.She did her graduation in dentistry at the Mathrushri Ramabai Ambedkar Dental College and Hospital situated in Bangalore. Apart from academics, she was a brilliant and a trained dancer and gave her Arangetram, which is the debut on stage performance.
She is blessed with a great voice and has dubbed for many actresses. One of her remarkable dubbing skill was seen in the year 2003 when she dubbed for Genelia for her Tamil movie, Boys.
As regards acting, she started her career by acting in Gummalam, her debut Tamil Film directed by Suki S. Murthy and released in the year 2002. The film was not able to create magic. But this does not discourage her from trying her luck and she worked hard for her movies. Then she went on to make some excellent and critically acclaimed performances in various Tamil movies such as SollaMarandhaKadhai (2002), Pallavan (2002), AdiThadi (2003), Singara Chennai(2003), and Telugu Movies such as AllariBullodu (2005), Ayodhya (2005), Sankhantri (2005).She has done Kannada and Malayalam films, too. She did leading as well as supporting roles but did not excite the love for her acting in the audience.
She has done a few teleserials in Tamil and Kannada. She got the great love of the public by her excellent item number in Anjeneya, a Tamil film. She has been inactive in the recent years and has made no public appearance in a near past.
