Shakun Batra Complete Bio & Career
Shakun belongs to a high-class family in Delhi. He has received his primary education from St. Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Delhi. He then attended St Stephen’s College, Delhi. He then moved to Canada and joined Vancouver Film School in British Columbia, Canada. From there he did a course in cinematography and polish his directorial skills. On returning back to India, he started working as an assistant director. His works as assistant director include films Jaane Tu…. Ya Jaane Na and Rock On!! In 2008.
He made his debut as director and writer with the film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu in 2012. The film was produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. Next, he directed the family-drama film Kapoor & Sons in 2016. He won many awards for Kapoor & Sons including three Filmfare Awards. In 2021, he made the documentary film Searching for Sheela based on the Life story of Ma Anand Sheela.
At present, he is working on the romantic drama film “Gehraayian” featuring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Pandey, and Naseeruddin Shah.
