Shane Watson Complete Bio & Career

Shane Watson or Shane Robert Watson is a professional cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and was the captain of Australian cricket team. His debut in international cricket was in 2002.  He started his cricket career for playing for Tasmania, Australia. Shane Watson holds many records in international cricket like, he was awarded as “Player of the Year” award for winning in all the three formats and he won it 7 times.
 
Shane Watson was selected in the Australian team for a tour in South Africa in 2002. He made his ODI debut by replacing Steve Waugh. He made his Test debut against Pakistan as a fast bowler. Due to injuries in his South Africa tour and in a match against Pakistan, he was made to sit on the bench and he was replaced by Andrew Symonds. By sitting on the bench for two matches Watson got a chance to play in 2006 ICC Champions Trophy, he made a victory against India and sealed the win. After, that in semi-final match he took two wickets and scored 57 not out. In 2009 ICC Champions Trophy he made two 100s against England and New Zealand and won the title and was declared as man of the match.
 
Watson is the only player in T20 leagues to score the most runs and taking most wickets. He is the only player in IPL to win the man of the tournament twice. He started his IPL journey for Rajasthan Royals. He took 17 wickets, was awarded man of the match award four times and also the man of the series award. Watson also signed with BBL(Big Bash League) and PSL(Pakistan Super League). After the suspension of Rajasthan Royals in 2016 for two years, Royal Challengers Bangalore signed him. They, however, released him in 2018 and was signed up CSK and has been their gun player for the next 2 seasons.
 
Watson held no 1  position in T20 international for 150 weeks, the only player to have no 1 ranking for both batting and bowling, and the only player to get four men of the match awards consecutively. He is one of the only Australian players to score centuries in all the three formats of the game. Only Australian player to score most sixes in an innings. He retired from International cricket in 2016 and is currently playing in T20 leagues across the globe.
