Sheldon Cotrell was working with Jamaican Defence Force soldier prior to becoming an actor. He was interested in cricket from a very young age and learned the art of fast bowling by himself. He first came to limelight after a spectacular 2012-13 domestic season. 

 

A tall, muscular man who bowls with some good pace and accuracy was finally given an opportunity for the Windies team when West Indies toured India in 2013. He had a forgettable outing as it was more about Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell series and he was hardly noticed. The following year, he made his T20I debut when West Indies toured England in 2014. With his slingy action, he became difficult to pick and soon developed himself into a white ball specialist cricketer. He made his ODI debut in 2015 but has played just handful of matches for his national team. He was though included in the Windies team that was selected for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. He had a great outing at the World Cup and with his short balls, he troubled the best in the business and became a force to reckon with.

 

He represents St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premiere League. He has been their main strike bowler for 4 years now and is arguably one of the best fast bowler that West Indies have produced in the recent years.
