The Malayalam cinema screenwriter, Sreekumaran has received the Vallathol Award which tends to be one of the most prestigious Awards for his brilliant poetry works. Initially, he started working in the Malayalam Film Industry as the lyricist for the movie Kaattumallika with the help of Subramaniam in the year 1966. Throughout his career, it is been estimated that he has written 85 scripts, produced 25 movies, and directed 29 movies in the Malayalam Industry alone. Apart from his contributions to the movie industry, he has also written the most popular book named as Prem nazir enna prema ganam. In order to mention, his national award winning movie is Kanakkum Kavitayum and state winning movies are Mohiniyattam and Gaanam. As a whole, he is dominated by his skills as the lyricist. 
 
As a matter of fact, his popular and fantastic songs include Swonthamenna padathinendhartham, Chandrikayilaliyunna Chandrakaantham, and Hridayasarasile pranatyapushpame. However, his commercially successful movies include Chandrakantham, Gaanam, Maalika Paniyunnavar, Mohiniyattam, Ambalavilakku, and Jeevitham Oru Gaanam. Additionally, the movies such as Naayattu, Idi Muzhakkam, and Aakramanam have made the huge box office collections. As per the observation, he usually writes the songs based on the concept of Love. Hence is regarded with the title as Hrudaya Rangangaluday. He has been awarded the state award in the category of Best Lyricist for the movie Naayika and Vilakku Vanigya Veena .
