Stephen Colbert Complete Bio & Career

The famous comedian, actor and television presenter, Stephen Colbert, was born to James William Colbert, Jr. and Lorna Elizabeth Colbert. He went to Episcopal Porter-Gaud School. Then in 1982, he went to Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia where he studied philosophy and was forced to devote time to studies. During this time, he developed his interest in acting and in 1984 he was transferred to Northwestern University in order to study the theatre and performance. After two years, he got graduation degree from Northwestern’s School of Communication.
 
He, then, took a job in the office of Second City comedy troupe and there he met Amy and Paul. He along with them made and starred in two comedy series The Sketch Show Exit 57 and the spoof of after-school specials Strangers with Candy. He also worked as a writer for The Dana Carvey Show. He had also worked as freelance writer for a show Saturday Night Live. 
 
He began to appear in The Daily Show which was of Comedy Central’s parody-news series. He appeared as a correspondent in this series. His other works include Spin City, Apartment 2F, Let It Snow, Crank Yankers, The Wrong Coast, American Dad! And many more.
