Born on 15 Feb 1820, Susan B. Anthony was a women’s rights activist and social reformer. She completes her graduation from Quaker Boarding School situated in Philadelphia. She played a prominent role in the women’s suffrage movement. She was born into a family that was committed to social equality. American anti-slavery society hired her state agent in 1856.
 
She founded the women’s loyal national league for the abolition of slavery. She also campaigned for equal rights for women and initiated the American equal rights Association in 1866. Elizabeth Cady Stanton became her good friend and both worked toward the upliftment of women. She was arrested in her hometown in 1872 for voting and fined too. Both the ladies urged for the amendment giving women the right to vote.
 
She created the International Council of women for women’s rights. Owing to the works she did for the society, Her birthday was celebrated at The White House on the invitation of the President, William Mckinley. She is a woman with great energy and determination. Both started a petition to prohibit the sale of alcohol in New York. Anthony bought the women rights issue known as Temperance into focus. Anthony organized a meeting and gave her first speech in 1849. Later up she bought on the matter of admission of black people in the school and college at the teacher's convention in 1857. She kept on insisting at the teacher's convention that women have the right to equal play and serve as officers.
