Tic Price Complete Bio & Career

George "Tic" Price is a well known American college basketball coach. He worked as an assistant coach in 1994.He worked under Tommy Joe Eagles. He was promoted as a head coach after the unexpected death of Eagles in 1994. He led Privateers claiming victory in Sun Belt Conference championship over Arkansas–Little Rock. The Privateers made a record of 22-7 and then took part in the National Invitation Tournament. He is the first coach winning more than 20 games in 3 consecutive seasons and set setting the Sun Belt Conference career record for winning percentage in league games.
 
He then took charge as Memphis's 14th head coach in 1997. Tigers and Price rose high above the expectations winning the National Division of Conference USA and advanced to NIT in very first season. His second season was disappointing for him and he was forced to resign on the ground of inappropriate sexual relationship with a student. McNeese State hired him as an assistant in 2000. He took over the charge of the McNeese State program. Under his guidance, the Cowboys won the Southland Conference title. His contract remained un-renewed after 2006 season. He served as an assistant at North Texas for 1 season.
 
He then worked as an assistant coach at Lamar for 2008-2011. He was an associate vice president of student engagement after that. After head coach Pat Knight fired by Lamar president Kenneth Evans, he was elected as interim coach. He initially denied it, but later accepted it when he was told that it was an order and not an offer by Evans. Later his status was changed from interim to an 11th head coach. He is currently working as the head coach for the Lamar Cardinals men's basketball team.
