Vasanthabalan Complete Bio & Career

Vasanthabalan is a highly successful Tamil film director. He is best known for his films, Angadi Theru and Veyil. He rose from ranks to prominence after his film Veyil in 2006. The movie won various accolades and along with state and Filmfare, it also won Nation Film Award under the category of Best Feature Film. It was also the first Tamil film to be screened at prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2007.
 
He struck gold at the box-office with his film Angadi Theru in the year 2010. He made his directorial debut with the coming of age romantic film “Album” in 2002.  He directed two more films Aravaan and Kaaviya Thalaivan. While Aravaan received mix reviews, Kaaviya Thalaivan was heavily praised by almost all the critics and was well received by the audiences as well.
 
He began his cinematic career by assisting noted director Shankar. He while assisting Shankar for Kadai penned the script of Veyil. The script though was similar to Kadai and he was unable to find a producer for himself. He narrated the script to Shankar’s wife as he was busy with his film Anniyan. Shankar then heard the script and decided to finance the project himself.
