Wang Qiang Complete Bio & Career

Wang is a professional Tennis player and has won many Grade-A titles. Wang started playing Tennis at the age of nine. She won the Junior’s Tennis Championship twice in a row which was held in China. She then entered a series of tennis tournament under the ITF from the year 2007 in Japan.
 
In 2013, she beat Caroline Wozniacki in Malaysian Open. Wozniacki was the top seed and had a ranking of 10 in the world. This was Wang’s first biggest win and provided her with a motive to play against stronger opponents for the betterment of her play. 
 
Wang made her debut in the US Open through the Grand Slam main-draw tournament in 2014. Wang won the first round by defeating Paula Kania from Poland. However, she has to face defeat in the next round from Casey Dellaqua from Australia. 
 
In 2018, her performance in Asian games was tremendous. She won the gold medal by defeating opponents including Zhang Shuai. Zhang was from the same country to that of Wang and faced her in the finals. The year 2018 was excellent for her as she won her maiden WTA title this year. 
 
She got two WTA titles in July and September which helped her to get the world ranking of 34. She became the first Chinese player to get this highest ranking. The title for highest ranking was held by Zhang Shuai. After winning both of the WTA titles, she entered the Premier-five tournament. 
 
She reached the semifinals by defeating Monica Puig in the quarter-final. Monica was the 2016 Olympic gold medalist. Wang, however, had to withdraw from the tournament as she got injured in the semi-final against AnnetKontaveit. With her amazing performance in the tournament, she advanced to the ranking of 28.
 
Wang had a wild card entry in the China Open in which she reached up to the semifinals as she was defeated by Caroline Wozniacki. However, due to her win against some of the best players like ArynaSabalenka, JelenaOstapenko and many more, she got her new career best ranking of 24. She then got into finals of WTA Elite Trophy in the year 2018 and became world no. 20 for the first time in her career. Wang, now, has a ranking of 16 as she played amazingly in Australian Open 2019 and an event in Miami.
