Yoko Ono Complete Bio & Career

The Japanese multimedia artist, Yoko is also proficient in art performance as well as filmmaking. Initially, she was part of the downtown artists’ scene in New York which includes the Fluxus Group. Ono along with Lennon made public protests against the Vietnam War with the help of their performance. Most prominently, she had the theme of feminism in all her music. Moreover, she has deeply influenced the other artists such as B-52s and Meredith Monk. In the year 1980, she became extremely popular and gained a large number of positive responses from the public due to her brilliant work in the album titled as Double Fantasy. This album was composed by collaborating with Lennon and was launched just 3 weeks before he died. 
 
Yoko mainly works as an activist to preserve and promote legacy. Apart from her singing profession, she has contributed to the Strawberry Fields in New York, The John Lennon Museum in Saitama, and The Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland by funding the good amount of her money. Additionally, she has also made many philanthropic contributions to the domains such as art, Philippine, peace, Japan Disaster Relief, and much more. Most evidently, she earned the Dr. Rainer Hildebrandt Human Rights Award given by the Alexandra Hildebrandt in the year 2012. As a matter of fact, this award was given to her for the brilliant contribution she had always made towards human rights.
