B. Chandrakala is a member of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and belongs to 2008 batch from Uttar Pradesh. She is considered as one of the most sincere, honest and hardworking officers of UP. She belongs to Scheduled Tribes and succeeded in becoming an IAS since she belonged to ST cadre. However, she is performing well in her duties and one can safely say that she deserves the post.
 
She is serving as an IAS officer from the year 2008. She has also served as District Magistrate (DM) from June 8, 2014, to October 14, 2014. She has served as DM only for a short period of 129 days. She became the 2nd female District Magistrate of Mathura District. She is an Internet phenomenon and a very active member of social networking. The video of her shouting at the officials and contractors, for inferior workmanship in UP about the damage in newly laid roads, has gone viral and her thought mirrored the voice of millions of people across India.
