Aftab Shivdasani is among those actors who started off as a child model in commercials. He was just 14 months old when he featured in a commercial famous Food brand called Farex Baby. In addition to commercials, as a child actor, he acted in various film films and television series as well. He made his acting debut as a child artist with the super hit film of the 1980s, Mr. India. After which, he acted in Chalbaaz, Awwal Number, and Shehanshah among others. He played the title role in the famous Doordarshan series called ‘Stone Boy’ in the year 1992.
 
He made his full-fledged acting debut with the film called Mast in the year 1999. He was cast opposite Urmila in this film and the film was directed by Ram Gopal Varma. His performance in the film was highly praised and he was also awarded the Best Debut Actor Award at various Award functions. A couple of years later, he worked in Mukesh Bhatt’s thriller Kasoor. The movie was a huge hit and his performance in the negative role was well received. For his second film too, he garnered awards at various award shows but this time under the category of Best Villian.
 
His honeymoon period at the box office soon ended and series of flops films started with the films such as Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega, Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai amongst others. His career was on the verge of fall down and then came Inder Kumar’s Masti. The adult comedy film was well received by the audience and his performance was as always applauded. Though after Masti again, he was unable to deliver a solo hit and is now mostly seen in multi-starer films only. In 2018, He made his acting debut in Tamil cinema with director Siddique's film Bhaskar Oru Rascal. In 2020, he was seen in the Hindi action crime thriller web series "Poison 2" which was Streaming on ZEE5.
