Alexander Payne Complete Bio & Career
Payne studied in Brownell-Talbot School, Dundee Elementary School, and Lewis and Clark Junior High school. He completed his secondary education from Creighton Prep. Then he attended Standford University and got a graduate degree in Latin-American literature and history. He got his master's degree in fine arts from the UCLA Film School.
During MFA his thesis film, The Passion of Martin got the attraction of industry and he got signed by Universal Pictures. In 1996, he directed his first film ‘Citizen Ruth’. It was a comedy film directed by director Alexander Paine. In 1996,The fim was first premiered at Sundance Film Festival.
His film ‘Election’ aimed at Politics and Study in America named as the best film of 1999 and nominated for an Academy Award for Writing an Adapted screenplay. The film was a big hit and also suffered from critics at that time.
Apart from this, he directed another popular film such as About Schmidt (2002), Sideways (2004), The Descendants (2011), Nebraska (2013) and Downsizing (2017). He got nominated for oscar for his screenplay "The Descendents''.
