The famous singer, composer, musician, and music director, Arjun Janya, was born to Ashwathkumar and Anasooya. He was born into Kannada family. He is well known for his works in Kannada music industry. There is no information about his education. His previous name was Lokesh Kumar.
 
He made his debut with a Kannada film in 2006 titled as Autograph Please. The fact lies in his starting where he assisted composers K. Kalyan and V. Manohar. Apart from assisting, he also played keyboard for 30 films and after that, he was able to release his debut directed movie. He continued to compose for many films but he did not gain much success until he has given background music for Birugaali in the year 2009. He received a lot of fame and success and following this movie, he again scored for movie Sanchari in the year 2010. 
 
His biggest break came with movie Kempe Gowda in the year 2011. He received a lot of positive responses and enjoyed the success achieved. Following this, he made changes in his name from Arjun to Arjun Janya following astrologer’s suggestion. His noted works as a composer Baba, Yuga, Slum Bala, Jugaari, Hebbuli, Chowka, Pataki and much more. Currently, he is busy composing music for upcoming Kannada films like The Villain and Naane Next CM. As a singer, he worked in Romeo, Lucky, Rambo and Mrugashira. Currently, he is judging Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il champs in Zee Kannada.
 
His achievements include the Karnataka State Film Award for the category of best music director for Alemaari in the year 2012. He had also won the SIIMA Award in Best music director for Romeo and the Filmfare best music director for Bhajarangi. He underwent cardiac procedure in February 2020.
