Athiya Shetty first went to Cathedral & John Connon School and then shifted to American School of Bombay and completed her graduation at the New York Film Academy as she wanted to act in films.

 

She made her debut opposite Sooraj Pancholi in 2015 in a Romantic Action Film titled ‘Hero’. The movie was successful at the box office and she received a lot of accolades and also Dadasaheb Phalke Award. She was bombarded with commercials for brands that believed she could be used for selling their products. While she received some harsh statements as well as one of the websites asked her to improve her acting skills as they claim she’s underprepared for the center stage. She came back strong in her next film Mubarakan in 2017. She was cast opposite Arjun Kapoor in this film. Though she had a brief role but was quite effective and it seems that she is catching up and will take star kids' legacy forward. In 2019, she was highly praised for her performance in the film Motichoor Chaknachoor.

 

Apart from acting taking selfies and playing outdoor sports like basketball and football tops her hobby list. She also loves dancing and additionally learned a few dance forms from Remo D’Souza Dance Academy in Mumbai.
