Bansi Lal Complete Bio & Career

Bansi Lal was elected as a Chief Minister of Haryana three times and was considered a close confidante of former woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her politician son, Sanjay Gandhi in the times of Emergency in the years 1975-1977.
 
He studied law at the Punjab University Law College. He was awarded honorary degrees for Doctor of Law and Doctor of Science from the Kurukshetra University and Haryana Agricultural University respectively.
 
He did hold many portfolios during his time namely as a Defense Minister from December 1975 to March 1977, Minister of Railways from December 1984 to June 1986. Lal was elected to the State Assembly, a total of seven times, out of which the first was in1967.
 
He was in charge of jolting every one of the towns in Haryana amid his residency as boss pastor in the late seventies and was likewise the pioneer of roadway tourism in the state. He is viewed as "Iron Man" by many individuals who were constantly near reality and took interest in the upliftment of the community.
 
The social activist formed the Haryana Vikas Party in the year 1996 after he parted with Congress.
