Bindu was born on 17-04-1951 in Valsad in the state of Gujarat, India. She is an Indian Film Actress & Dancer who is known for her work in Bollywood and Gujarati films.

Her father was a film producer but he died when Bindu was just 13 years old. Being the eldest kid in the family the responsibility of running the family fell on her shoulders. She by now already made her acting debut through the Bollywood film Anpadh in the year 1962. At the age of 16, she played a minor role in Rajesh Khanna starrer film Aurat and took her career forward from there.
She tasted success with the film like Do Raaste and Ittefaq. Her hot cabret dance in Kati Patang left the audience speechless and she started writing success story of her own since then. She won Best Supporting actress nomination for her performance in films like Dastaan, Abhimaan, Hawas, Imtihaan, and Arjun Pandit. She was among one of the most sought after supporting actress during the decade of the 1970s. In the decade of the 1980s, she was seen in films like Prem Rog, Hero, Karma, and Hifazat among others. From early 1990s, she started playing mother's role and some of her most notable performances include in films like Biwi Ho To Aisi, Kisehn Kanhaiya, Judwaa, and Aunty No. 1 among various others. In the decade of the 2000s, she was seen in films like Main Hoona Na, and Om Shanti Om among others. She was last seen in Bollywood film Mehbooba which released in the year 2008.
