Carlos Santana Complete Bio & Career

Carlos Santana is a musician who is of Mexican and American descent. He mainly got fame from being in the band Santana. He learned instruments when he was very young. He learned the violin when he was just five years old, and guitar when he was eight. His father was a musician as well, so some may say it runs in his blood. His influence when he was young was Ritchie Valens who was one of the few Mexicans which dabbled in the American rock and pop music industry. Santana attended the James Lick Middle School and graduated from Mission High School in the year 1965. He had applied for California State University, Northridge, and Humboldt but decided to not to pursue a higher education.
 
One of the bands in the area he was in was the band Tijuana Strip, which he ended up joining. Later on, the band Santana was signed on by the record producer, CBS Records. The band recorded their first album the year 1969. The album was a big hit and even got the spot of number four in the album charts in America. The single Evil Ways was at the number nine spot on the Billboard Hot 100. That same year, the band performed at the Woodstock festival. There, they got to be introduced to a worldwide audience and gained much critical acclaim.

He was married to Deborah Santana for thirty-four years, but they filed a divorce in the year 2007. He later married Cindy Blackman in December. Now, the couple lives in the city of Las Vegas in the state of Nevada. The couple has three children; one is a boy and two are girls.
