Danielle Collins, an American tennis player ranked world no.30, was born on December 13, 1993. She reached her first major singles final at the 2022 Australian Open. Collins won two WTA Tour singles titles: at the 2021 Palermo Open and at the 2021 Silicon Valley Classic.
Collins won the NCAA singles title twice during her sophomore and senior years at Virginia. She finished her career at Virginia as the top ranked collegiate player. Her breakthrough on the WTA came when she reached the semifinals of the 2018 Miami Open as a qualifier. At the 2019 Australian Open, she reached the semifinals, defeating world No. 2 Angelique Kerber en route. She also reached quarterfinals in singles and doubles at the 2020 French Open and 2019 Wimbledon Championships respectively. Collins has won one WTA 125 and four ITF singles titles.
She first played on the ITF Women's Circuit in 2009, winning her first tournament title that same year.Collins did not play professionally in 2013 and 2015 while she was playing college tennis at Virginia.
