Divij Sharan is a tall lanky professional tennis player, who started playing tennis at the age of 7. He is a specialized doubles players and rose to prominence after being ranked No.5 in the junior doubles ranking in the year 2003. He reached the semifinals of French Open in 2004. He pairs up with Purav Raja at the doubles event.
 
He made his Davis Cup debut against New Zealand in 2012. As per his records, he has played his best tennis at the hard court, though he maintains that he loves to play at the grass court. He idolizes the legendary tennis player Roger Federer and the Indian duo of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. Besides Tennis, he loves playing cricket and is a huge fan of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
 
He has yet to win a title beyond ATP 250 masters and the two ATP titles that he has won thus far are in ATP 250 masters. He has reached his career highest ranking of 53 in February 2017. He has always said that it is because of his parent’s support that he is playing tennis and that his parents too are very proud of his achievements on the court.
