Eugenie Bouchard started playing tennis from the age of five and at the age of 12 relocated to Florida to train under former tennis player Nick Saviano, who is still her coach. Three years later she came back to Canada and continued her training and finally became one of the top junior players on earth. She created history by winning the junior doubles title at Wimbledon in 2011 and both the junior singles and doubles title at Wimbledon in 2012 and in the process she became the first person from Canada to win a singles Grand Slam title.

 

Genie's turned professional in 2013 and started qualifying for main draws. She qualified for all major tournaments in that year and presented a strong challenge to her higher-ranked opponents. In 2013, she was conferred with the World Tennis Association Newcomer of the Year Award.

 

2014 has arguably been the best year of Genie’s career thus far. She made an outstanding start to the season by winning against the former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic and advancing to the semis of a Grand Slam for the first time in her professional career. The same year she won her first WTA Tournament in Nürnberger Versicherungscup. Her dream runs continued and she advanced to the semis at the French Open. She became the headlines of every newspaper after she marched to the finals of Wimbledon. She ended the year 2014 with career best ranking of 7.

 

She is still very young and new on the professional circuit but she has already become a marketable product and several companies are in line to sign her.  Wherever she plays she has hordes of fans that cheer her on at every single tournament known as "Genie's Army".

 

Off the court, Eugenie’s has made headlines for her love life. It is rumored that she has been dating Alex Galchenyuk.
