George Reddy was a university gold medalist at Osmania University. In addition to being a gold medalist, he was also student communtiy leader at the university. He raised his voice against inequality and social discrimination. He was an ardent follower of Marxist's ideology and Che Guevara by fellow students at the university. For his ideology some opposition members killed him in student hostel at the University. This event led to outrage and a student union body named Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) was made.
