Indrani Mukherjea was born on 22 November 1972. She is an HR consultant and media executive. She founded a recruitment company in 1996 named, INX services. Her most important client was the reliance industries. The firm did a partnership with IMD international search group. Later on, they appointed Indrani as their regional director. INX group also appointed Indrani as the chairperson.
 
On 22 December 2006, INX had a capital of Rs. 7.5 Crore. At that time, FDI was not allowed. Indrani Headed the INX Media as its CEO in November 2007. The matters dealt by Indrani include Content, Marketing, and Human resources. Hindi entertainment channel, 9X was launched by them and subsequently, they also launched 9XM in November 2007. An English news channel named, News X was launched in 2008. The entire fund was spent in the first year. They needed funds. At least $ 150 Million was required to launch 3 regional channels, 3 regional music channels, and 3 news specific channels.
 
The Indian media industry was hit by the financial crisis. Consequently, they sold INX media due to the paucity of funds to indi media network. Due to numerous problems, Mukherjeas resigned from their posts. They also sold their stake in the company and resigned from the Board of directors position in 2011.
