Jaspal Rana Complete Bio & Career

Jaspal Singh an Indian shooter who mainly contested in 25m Centre Fire Pistol category. Presently he is working as a coach in Jaspal Rana Institute of Education and Technology in Dehradun.
 
His debut was at the age of 12, at 31st National Shooting Championship at Ahmedabad and won a silver medal for the same. He won many awards and medals for Centre Fire Pistol, Air Pistol, Standard Pistol, Free Pistol and Rapid Fire Pistol events. He has earned more than 600 medals under his name at National as well as International levels.
 
In Doha, in 2006 Asian Games he created a world record in 25m Centre Pistol with 590 points. His major achievements are 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima, 2006 Commonwealth Games in Men’s 25m Centre Fire Pistols with Samaresh Jung (gold medal), Gold Medal in 25m Standard Pistol AND 25M Centre Fire Pistol at 2006 Asian Games, he also created a world record by earning 590 points.
 
In the year 2004, he was awarded Arjuna Award, when he was just 18 years old and by the age of 21 he received the Padmashree and he was also awarded National Citizen Award by Mother Teresa.
 
He is a member of ruling party BhartiyaJanta Party and contested in Lok Sabha elections from Tehri. He contested in the 2009 Lok Sabha Election but unfortunately, he lost to Vijay Bahuguna of Congress. Later in the year 2012, he joined INC and is presently an active member as well as representing Uttarakhand.
