Lalji Tandon was born on 12-04-1935 in Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. He is an Indian Politician who has appointed the new Governor of Bihar State on dated 21-08-2018 by B.J.P. (Bharatiya Janata Party) at the age of 83.

Lalji Tandon belongs to BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), and they worked as the supporter and promoter of former Prime Minister Shri "Atal Bihari Vajpayee" with full conviction. He is active in politics since 5-6 decades. At present, he is the governor of “Bihar” who is recently appointed. In 2009 he had a spectacular victory over the  "Rita Bahuguna Joshi" from  INC (Indian National Congress). And his popularity and people of the Lucknow constitution belief, he had been elected the member of (15th Lok Sabha) (2009-2015) from Lucknow. Atal Bihari Vajpayee held that seat since 1991, and in 2009 Lalji Tandon extended the legacy of Vajpayee sahib through the Flag wavering of BJP by winning that seat in 2009, Lok Sabha elections.
 
Lalji Tandon active contribution to the Indian politics. Uttar Pradesh public intended to see Lalji Tandon be their leader just because of their previous work and dedication towards resolving the significant matters of the society to extend their working. (1978-1984), he had been the member of UP(Uttar Pradesh) Vidhan Parishad. And (1990-1996), he was the ("Leader of House of the council"). (1996–2009), consecutive three times, he continued to be the  Uttar Pradesh (member of  Legislative Assembly (MLA)).2003-2007, he was the" leader of opposition in the Assembly." Under the alliance of (BSP and BJP), in UP cabinet he became the "Minister of Urban Development " in "Mayawati" region and also under the ministry of "Kalyan Singh."
 
On the occasion of his birthday and even also on the eve of elections, he was going to distribute sarees to the poor women of his region and at the moment stampede went happened, and many people round about 21  killed in this stampede. The case has been filled in his name, but afterward, he got the clean chit. On August 21, 2018, he has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar.
