Manhar Udhas Complete Bio & Career
Manhar Udhas obtained his degree in mechanical engineering from Gujarat. Moreover, in the 60's he went to Mumbai to look for a job. But he was more inclined towards singing since his childhood, so despite that, he decided to make his career as a singer. His entry into the Hindi cinema was made through his brother-in-law who was at the time making the Gujarati language film and he then introduced him to the renowned music composers Kalyanji-Anand Ji.
He started assisting the Kalyanji Anandji to give them help for the recording of the song. Once a while Kalyan Ji and Anand Ji were seeking Mukesh on an immediate response. Despite that Mukesh was not available then they decided to make the dubbing of the song in Manhar's voice and after Mukesh will sing the song over it. When the song recorded in his voice then Mukesh heard he was so impressed by his voice and complemented he sang the song so beautifully and perfectly.
This was his first ever song 'aap se hum ko bichchade huye ek zamana beet gaya' for the Hindi film Vishwas in 1969. This way he was fortunate to get his break in the Hindi cinema. In his singing journey, he sang many hit song for the successful Bollywood films such as Abhimaan, Chori Chori, Hero, Janbaaz, Karma, Ram Avtar, Naam and Tridev.
His some of the selected collections of singles as well as became so popular in an Indian music industry was Purva suhaani aayee, Tu Is Tarah Se, Tu mera jaanu hai, Tu kal chala jaayega Tera naam liya, Gali Gali mein, Hum tere bin kahin nahin, and Ek musafir. Manhar has given his voice to many superstars of Bollywood and also worked with the renowned music composers and directors. He sang the songs in 300 films including Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati as well as Bengali. Alongside with singing, he has also released 30 music albums.
