Manmohan Singh was born on 26-09-1932 in Gah, Chakwal in the state of Punjab, Pakistan. He is an Indian Prime Minister, Politician, Economist & Civil Servant.

Manmohan Singh Complete Bio & Career

Manmohan Singh has completed his degree and postgraduate studies at the University of Punjab. He went to Cambridge University later. Where he comes from pH D. Then he got D. Phil from the University of Oxford. His book, India's export trends and prospects for self-safe growth, is considered to be India 's first and most critical trade policy criticism. Dr. Singh gained considerable fame as an economics teacher.

In 1971 there was Dr. Singh has been appointed an economic adviser to the Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry. Immediately after that, in 1972, he was appointed Chief Economic Adviser to the Minister of Finance. In the following years, he was the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Committee, the Governor of the Reserve Bank, the Prime Minister's Economic Advisor and the Chairman of the University Grant Commission. So the most economic turning point in India's economic history occurred in the period between 1991 and 1996 when he became India's Finance Minister.

In 1985, during Rajiv Gandhi 's tenure, Manmohan Singh was appointed vice - president of the planning committee. In this position, he worked consistently for five years, even while in 1990 he became the economic advisor of the Prime Minister. When PV Narasimha Rao became Prime Minister, he handed over the independent responsibility of the Finance Ministry to Manmad Singh in his cabinet in 1991. At this moment, Dr. Manmohan Singh was not a member of the Rajya Sabha or even the Lok Sabha.

He first took power, he completely stopped the ' License Raj ' scheme, under which any change in any business would be obtained for the approval of the government. Some private firms benefited enormously from this kind of scheme, freeing them even from the country's economic benefits. He was elected as a member of Rajya Sabha in 1998 and became the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha as well from 1998 until 2004.

After the 2004 general election victory, UPA won, Congress President Sonia Gandhi declared Manmohan Singh India's next Prime Minister. Manmohan Singh was not really a Lok Sabha member, few Indians probably knew. He often used to keep his political image clean, he never involved in any low politics, which every Indian heartfeltly chose him. He took office oath as a PM and assumed office on On 22 May 2004.

After his successful completion of tenure as a PM, again during the 2009 elections of  Lok Sabha, the Indian National Congress strengthened the United Progressive Alliance and Singh returned to the post of Prime Minister again in 2009 and assumed the office of PM.
