Monika Panwar was born and grew up in Garhwal into a Hindu Kshatriya family. She did her schooling at a private school in her town. Later, she attended the Punjab University Chandigarh and completed her graduation.
During her colleg days, she watched the Hollywood film 'The Godfather', which make change in her life. Before watching this film, she never think about learn acting or be an actress. But after watching this movie, she joined the National School of Drama (NSD) Delhi in 2013. She completed her four years acting and film making course in 2017. In the same year, she made her acting debut in a Bengali short film 'Robbie Er Aami'.
In 2018, She appeared in Hindi short film 'Destiny'. She started gaving auditions for work in the Hindi cinema. After one year strugle, she got a small role in the Bollywood film 'Super 30' opposite Hrithik Roshan. Next, she was seen again in small roles in the Bollywood films such as Love Aaj Kal, and Class of '83. In 2020, she got a chance to work in Netflix's Hindi crime drama web series titled 'Jamtara - Sabka Number Ayega' as Gudiya opposite Sparsh Shrivastava, Anshumaan Pushkar, Aksha Pardasany, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Amit Sial, and others. The web series went hot on OTT plateform and she received her first commercial breakthrough success.
Next, she was seen in the Hindi web series 'Choona' in 2023 as Bela Pandey opposite Aashim Gulati, Jimmy Shergill, and others.
