Neeraj Vora Complete Bio & Career

Neeraj Vora was a famous director, actor, writer and composer from the Indian Film industry. Though he was born in Bhuj, he was brought up in the city of dreams ‘Mumbai’. He already had a musical background in his family being the son of a famous personality of the music industry Pandit Vinayak Rai Nanalal Vora. His father was popular for the solo instrument ‘Tar-Shehnai’.Being from the family with classical music background, he was not allowed to watch Bollywood movies and listen to film music. But his mother Premila Ben was interested in movies. She used to accompany him to movies.
 
He studied at Pupils' Own School with Tina Munim, Falguni Pathak and Kinjal Bakshi as his compatriots. Most of the students from his school used to learn classical music from his father whereas he used to teach them Bollywood songs on harmonium. He was inclined to Gujarati theatre. It all started when he was just 6 years old. His father identified his talent and supported him to perceive his dreams. He was active in intercollegiate events and started working as a professional actor when he was in college.
 
He started his career as an actor in Ketan Mehta’s film ‘Holi’ in 1984. He was featured in television serial ‘Choti Badi Baatien’ and ‘Circus’. He got the name with his performance in ‘Rangeela’. Later he was approached by Priyadarshan and Anil Kapoor for ‘Virasat’ and later for another Aamir Khan’s film ‘Mann’. His play ‘Aflatoon ‘ was hit and later it was adopted by director Rohit Shetty for the movie ‘Golmaal’. He worked as a writer and director of the play.
 
After circus in 1993, he came together with Deepak Tijori and Ashutosh Gowarikar and the trio made a film ‘Pehla Nasha’ casting Deepak Tijori in a lead role. The script was written by Neeraj and even his brother directed music for the film along with him. His career as a writer took off and he wrote many of the popular movies such as Rangeela, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Ajnabee, Josh, Hera Pheri, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Deewane Huye Paagal, Awara Paagal Deewana, Phir Hera Pheri etc.
 
He made his directional debut with a movie ‘Khiladi 420’. Later he focused on production and came up with ‘Familywala’.He directed Phir Hera Pheri, Shortkut, Hera Pheri 3 and Familywala. He had acted in many super hit movies including Hello Brother, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Dhadkan, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, Khatta Meetha, Department, Bol Bachchan and Welcome Back. He had a brain stroke in 2016 and was in a coma. He had his last breath on December 14, 2017.

Neeraj Vora died on 14-12-2017 around 03:00 A.M. in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India. He was suffering from brain stroke from October 2016 and was in the coma. During death, he was admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai and died at the age 54.
