At the age of 17, Niharika Singh began her modeling career by indulging into local modeling assignments. She got a degree in commerce (B.Com-honors) from "Shri Ram College of Commerce." She did not have as much interest in the commerce field to make a career, she was dreaming of pursuing her career in the glamorous world. For achieving her dream in 2003, she shifted to Mumbai. She participated in 2005 "Femina Miss India" contest and in that contest she was fortunate to win the title of "Miss India Earth" alongside winning another subtitle such as "Miss Beautiful Hair and Miss Photogenic." She even represented India in the Philippines at "Miss Earth-2005" contest. In the subsequent time, she appeared in commercials, Music Videos and even she hosted the beauty contest a reality series " Banungi Main Miss India."
To begin the journey in films in 2006, she signed the ten films contract with Raj Kanwar, but even a single movie could not produce. She made her debutant from the (retro drama movie) "Miss Lovely" an Ashim Ahluwalia's film. Her role pinky in the film was highly praised and gained positive reviews from the film critics. This film even competed (Un Certain Regard section)at Cannes Film Festival-2012. She won the nomination at the 21st Screen Awards under the category of "most promising newcomer" and she stated in an interview she got discovered after her union with the Cannas Festival for the film "Miss Lovely".
She had a minimal role in "Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa' a Buddhadeb Dasgupta's film, and this film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival-2013. She had now attained the stardom, and she came into limelight by her outstanding performance of this talented actress. In the next project of Bappaditya Bandopadhyay's she played a role in "Sohra Bridge" and even this film chose to screen at the (46th -International Film Festival of India). In Berlin International Film Festival she got selected for "Berlinale Talents" in 2016. In 2018 her film "The Field Guide To Evil" had a worldwide premiere at the (South by Southwest).
