Niitesh Tiwari was born and brought up in Itarsi. He graduated from IIT Bombay and started working as a creative director at Leo Burnett prior to making his Bollywood debut. He started off his career in Bollywood through Nationa Award winning film Chillar party in the year 2011. In addition to direction, he also wrote dialogues, story, and screenplay of the film. He gave some of the most criticaly acclaimed films such as Nil Battey Sannata, Dangal, and Bareilly Ki Barfi. His latest release Chhichhore though failed to create the same magic. His next film Bevakoof will release in the year 2020.
