Prateik Babbar Complete Bio & Career
Prateik Babbar began his career as an assistant of filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar. Despite that, he was cast in several ads commercials for the big market brands such as KitKat. The Amir Khan Productions gave him first break in Bollywood films from the film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na starring Genelia D'Souza and Imran Khan. He impressed the film critics through his born acting talent inherited from his mother Smita Patil and even from father Raj Babbar. For that film, he won the Filmfare Special Jury Award (certificate) at the Filmfare Awards in 2009. This film proved to be the hit film at the box.
In 2011, he was cast again in the film produced under the banner of the Amir Khan Productions Dhobi Ghaat, which was directed by the Amir Khan's wife Kiran Rao. In the same following year, he was cast in some multistarrer films in supporting roles such as his role inDum Maro Dum which is an action-thriller film starring Rana Daggubatia and Abhishek Bachchan. In the mid of 2011, he appeared in the cult film director Prakash Jha Aarakshan (which is a socio-drama film) in this he was fortunate to work with the superstars of Bollywood such as Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan.
In 2012, he appeared in the Gautham Menon directed and written film "Ekk Deewana Tha" which is the remake of the Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (directed by Menon also) opposite Amy Jackson which was the debut film of the Amy. He made his debut in the Bengali cinema from the film Auroni Taukhon opposite Paoli Dam in 2014. He attended the Jeff Goldberg Studio an acting school to learn the method acting in 2016. After the finish of this course, he came back again through the comedy-drama film "Umrika" which gained the opening at the Sundance-film festival in 2015 by receiving the positive response at the film festival. In 2018, he appeared in an antagonist role of Sunny in the Tiger Shroff starring film Baaghi-2. He was also seen in the web series titled 4 More Shots in the year 2019.
In 2020, he made debut in Tamil cinema with AR Murugadoss's film 'Darbar' opposite Rajinikanth, Suniel Shetty, Nayanthara, Nivetha Thomas, and others. Next year, he was seen in the Hindi series Chakravyuh, Hiccups and Hookups, and Bollywood films The Power, Mumbai Saga. Next, he appeared in the Bollywood films such as Bachchhan Paandey, India Lockdown, Cobalt Blue, and Khwaabon Ka Jhamela.
In 2025, he was seen in the Bollywood film Dhoom Dhaam as Arya opposite Yami Gautam Dhar & Pratik Gandhi. Next, he was seen in A. R. Murugadoss's Hindi action drama film 'Sikandar' as Arjun Pradhan opposite Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and others. In the same year, he made his debut in Telugu cinema with director Sailesh Kolanu's film 'HIT: The Third Case' opposite Nani, Srinidhi Shetty, and others.
