Raman Lamba was born on 02-01-1960 in Meerut in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. He was an Indian Cricket Player.

Raman Lamba Complete Bio & Career

Raman Lamba was an Indian cricketer and a right-handed batsman. He was well known for his fitness. He started his Ranji Trophy career in 1980 and continued till 1998.He had scored 5 double centuries which were part of his total 22 centuries scored. He scored highest 312 runs against Himachal Pradesh with 392 balls in 1994-95.He scored the record number of 1034 runs in 10 matches in the tournament. He was leading Delhi in that particular season. He scored 320 runs in Duleep Trophy against West Zone at the finale match while chasing a target of 444 runs which West Zone scored with their captain Anshuman Gaekwad ’s 216 runs contribution. He scored 8776 runs in first-class cricket which includes 27 fifties and 31 centuries.
 
He started his career in One Day International cricket in the 1986 Austral-Asia Cup final.He showed his acrobatic skills and fitness, taking the catch of Abdul Qadir on Kapil Dev’s balling.He scored 64 and then 102 runs in his 1st and 6th match.He was awarded ‘Man of the series’ for his 278 runs which include 2 fifties and a century. Krishnamachari Srikkanth opened the Indian innings with him in Jawaharlal Nehru Centenary Cup in 1989.The duo had an opening partnership of 100 runs twice against Pakistan and Australia.He played only 1 test match and was not able to succeed in it.He had scored just 1 run in 2 innings against Sri Lankans.He came back and was part of playing 11 in the test series against Pakistan, but he got injured during net practice and was not able to play in any match. Mohammad Azharuddin played instead of him.
 
He was banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India from playing in first-class cricket for some period as a punishment for the wordy clash between him and West Zone cricketer Rashid Patel while playing for Duleep Trophy at Jamshedpur.He was famous for his Bangladesh's Dhaka Premier League career.He had also been a representative of Ireland in unofficial One Day International matches.His temple was badly hit by the cricket ball hit by  Mehrab Hossain while fielding in final of the Premier Division cricket match for Dhaka's leading club, Abahani Krira Chakra.He didn’t wear a helmet and that injury caused an internal hemorrhage and unfortunately, he went into a coma. He died after 3 days on a ventilator.

Raman Lamba died on 23-02-1998 at Post Graduate Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh at age of 38. On his temple, he was hit by Mehrab Hossain by a cricket ball when he was fielding in Bangladesh's league cricket. He had an internal hemorrhage and went into a coma. After that, he was declared dead.
