Ramdev Complete Bio & Career
Baba Ramdev’s actual name is Ramkrishna Yadav. He did schooling till 8th standard and after which he joined Arya Gurukul, Khanpur. He studied Yoga, Indian scriptures, and Sanskrit. It was there he decided to become a Sanyasi (Monastic Living). After becoming Sanyasi under the guidance of Swami Shankerdevji Maharaj, he adopted the name called “Baba Ramdev”.
He then joined Kalva Gurukul and obtained his post-graduate degree with a specialization in Yoga, Dar?ana, Upanishads, Vedas and Sanskrit Vy?karana. After which, he settled down there and started teaching the art of yoga in the state of Haryana and later went to Himalaya and spent few years of his life there. From there he relocated to Haridwar and practiced meditation and intense self-discipline. To promote Yoga, he established Divya Yoga Mandir Trust in the year 1995. To make this endeavor reach far across, he was accompanied by Acharya Balkrishna who is a physician and Acharya Karmaveer who is a yoga expert. His endeavor scaled new heights and by 2003 was seen teaching yoga on Aastha Channel. He became a famous personality and millions of people including celebrities approached him to teach them this art. His popularity spread across the border and was invited in countries like the US, UK, and Japan to teach Yoga in their countries as well.
To promote Ayurveda and Yoga, he started Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar. After which an FMCG products company Patanjali was founded by him along with Acharya Balkrishna. He is also well known for his participation in political campaigns as well. During the Jan Lokpal agitation in 2011, he joined the stage with Anna Hazare. He also led his fight against Black Money. He is now seen on various television channels and talk shows promoting yoga and his ayurvedic products. For his contribution, he was awarded Honorary Doctorate degree from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology of Bhubaneshwar in the year 2007.
