Richa is one of the youngest women international cricketers. She belongs to the Siliguri region of West Bengal, India. She did her schooling at Margaret Sister Nivedita English School, Siliguri. She was passionate about cricket from her school days. At the age of 11, she became part of the Bengal Women's Under-19 cricket team. Her performance in the Junior tea made her way to the senior team next year.
In January 2020, she was named in the Indian Women Squad selected for ICC Women's T20 World Cup. She was only 16 at that time. Next, she made her place in the team selected for Tri-nation Series held in Australia. On February 12, 2020, she made her debut against Australia in Melbourne. In 2022, she got selected for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup held in New Zealand. She performed well in the series. In the team's fourth match, she scored 52 runs in just 26 balls.
