Saba Anjum Karim was born on 12-06-1985 in Durg in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. She is an Indian Hockey Player.

Saba Anjum Karim Complete Bio & Career

Saba Anjum Karim, one of the most dignified members of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team, was the youngest player at the 2002 Commonwealth Games that was held in Manchester.
 
In 2000, she made her debut in the under 18 AHF Cup and since then, has represented India in a series of international tournaments such as Asia Cup, Commonwealth Games, Junior World Cup, New Zealand Tour, Asian Games, Buenos Aires and a lot more.
 
She received the Chhattisgarh’s top Gundadhur sports award for bringing pride and glory to her state with her performance in the domestic as well as international matches and shortly after, she was offered the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in 2012. In 2013, she was awarded the Arjuna Award for her remarkable achievements and she also received the Padma Shri award in 2015.
 
As a child, she watched many boys in her neighborhood play hockey and it kindled her interest in the game when she joined them in their daily frolic at the age of 9. It is her passion that led her to become the forward right wing striker for the Indian Hockey Team in the later days. She scored the victory goal in the final of the Shastri Cup and had a total of 6 goals in the tournament. She was declared the captain of the Indian women’s Hockey team in 2011. She has participated in 3 Commonwealth games, 4 Asia Cups,4 World Cups and 42 tournaments. She proudly owns 14 medals and made 92 goals in 200 games so far.
 
However, the reason why she is in the police right now, despite hockey being her life, keeps many of us wondering! She has concrete dreams of starting an academy for all hockey lovers and is working steadily towards it. She hails from a very poor family and had to struggle much to go ahead with his sports career and she yearns to do everything she can to launch hockey as an inspirational sport for all those who takes in it.
