Sarla Thakral was India’s first India first female pilot or the first woman to fly to the sky. She belongs to Delhi India. She makes the history of 1,000hours of flying, after getting an ‘A’ grade license at the age of 21. she flew the Gypsy Moth on an airplane in the same year. She remade our history as a badass woman for chasing her ambitions. she was a woman with a high spirit and obsessed with the high sky flying.
She got married at the early age of 16. The young woman took off to lahare in the two-seater plane in 1936 She creates this history after being a mother of a 4 yr girl. She was married to P D Sharma at a teenage of 16. Her husband came from a family of pilots and was passionate about being in the sky himself. In 1939 her husband died in an airplane crash . Her young daughter is very supportive. Then, he went to Jodhpur for commercial pilot training.
She was a true follower of Arya Samaj. She returned to Delhi with her two daughters after the Partition of India to restart his carrier. She got married to R.P Thakral in 1948. She gradually established herself as a painter and a business woman in Delhi. She receives huge success in her textile printing and jewelry business.
She started designing jewelry and costumes for valuable clients like Vijaylakshmi Pandit, various cottage emporiums, and the National School Of Drama. Her experience was progressive on local support. The fearless lady passed away in 2008 at the age of 91. The courageous lady makes history. She was always remembered for her passion to follow her dreams. She was a great inspiration for future generations.

She was born into a Hindu family. In 1930 at the age of 16, she was married to captain P. D. Sharma. Her husband was the first Indian to get an airmail pilot license to flying between Lahore and Karachi. In 1939 when she was just 25 years old, her husband died in an airplane crash. Then she remarried R. P. Thakral in 1948, at the age of 34. She had two daughters with her first marriage.
