Sumit Nagal was born on 16 August 1997. He is a tennis player by profession. He defeated Akira Santillan and Reilly Opelka and bagged the Wimbledon boys double title in 2015 along with Ly Hoang Nam. He made his debut for the Davis cup in 2016 against Spain which was held at New Delhi.
 
Davis Cup suspended him owing to the disciplinary issues. Nagal surprised Blaz Kavcic, the top player in the quarter-finals at Bengaluru Challenger. He defeated Yuki Bhambri, his competitor in the semi-finals, and Jay Clarke in the final round. This bagged him his first challenger title. Junior Asian games in 2018 were finished by him as a runner up along with Amandeep Singh and Raj Kumar.
 
The year 2019 was filled with success and achievements for Sumit Nagal. He was selected for his grand slam debut in the 2019 U.S open. In the opening round, Roger Federer was opposite him. He made it to the finals at Buenos Aires Challenger. He defeated Facundo Bagnis and consequently won the title. In 2020, he was selected to play for the 2020 U.S open.
