Riaz belongs to a high-class Kashmiri Family. He received his early education from Delhi Public School, Jammu and Kashmir. He was a very brilliant student. Then, he went to a government college and hospital, Jammu and Kashmir from where he got his MBBS degree. He belongs to the Islamic religion and always follows it. 
 
After completing his MBBS degree, Riaz moved to Mumbai for practicing his profession. At Mumbai, he worked at Sir H. N. Reliance foundation and research hospital as Surgeon. He worked as Senior Registrar of General surgery after completion of the intern period. At Mumbai, he came in contact with many famous Photographers and Media personalities.
 
As he always dreamt of becoming an actor or model from a very young age, his looks and personality helped him to achieve it. During his services at the hospital, he did modeling for many famous photographers. When his younger brother Asim became popular among the audience, his dream also got a boost. He worked in some Music videos such as 'Sky High', Gunah Karde, 'Befikar Raho'. 
 
In 2021, He is participating in the controversial reality show ''Bigg Boss 15''. His younger brother Asim also got popular among the audience through Bigg Boss13.
