Vidhu Vinod Chopra, belonging to a Film family, always had a love for Hindi Cinema and this motivated him to study film Direction at the prestigious “Film and Television Institute of India” in Pune, India.
He has always been a filmmaker par excellence and this showed right from his student days when his first short film, “Murder at Monkey Hill” won the Guru Dutt Memorial Award for Best Student Film and the most respected National Film Award for Best Short Experimental Film.
His films have always been loved both by the critics and the audiences alike. Some of his best work includes Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, the Munna Bhai series, 3 Idiots among others.
The fine craftsman that he is, has won him many awards and accolades. The six times National Award winner Vinod, won it for his films Munnabhai M.B.B.S., Parineeta, Lage Raho Munnabhai and 3 Idiots under various categories. He has also won five Filmfare Awards over the years.
