Vishal Sikka Complete Bio & Career

Vishal Sikka relocated from Madhya Pradesh to Vadodara when he was in 6th Standard. He then attended Kendriya Vidyalaya in Rajkot and completed his high-schooling from Rosary High School in Vadodara. After which, he enrolled for Computer Engineering at the MS University in Vadodara but he dropped out from there and went to New York and obtained his graduate degree in science from Syracuse University, New York. He then obtained his Ph.D. Degree from the Stanford University. 
 
He began his professional career at Xerox’s research labs and soon founded his own company called iBrain which was later bought by PatternRX, Inc. After which, he started with a new start up called Bodha.com. After Bodha was sold, he joined Peregrine Systems and was made the vice-president for platform technologies. 
 
In 2002, Sikka joined SAP and was later named the company’s senior vice-president of Architecture and Chief Software Architect. He was then named SAP’s maiden CTO in 2007. In 2010, he was made named co-CEO of the company. He quit SAP in 2014 before being already appointed as CEO of Indian IT giant Infosys. He was named company’s CEO and MD. After a long time rift with company’s founder Narayan Murthy, Sikka finally resigned from his post in August 2017 and was named as Executive Vice-Chairman of the company until the company finds somebody to replace him.
